Information for Parents
Established relationships with parents means we can share information positively and effectively to support children as much as possible.


Hours of Operation
Monday to Friday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Drop-off starts at: 8:00 AM
Pick-up before: 6:00 PM
Closed on: National and Melaka public holidays
Annual Closures for Training & Disinfection: Maximum 5 working days in June and 5 working days in December (Refer to the school calendar)

Attendance, Drop-Off & Pick-Up
Consistent attendance is essential for a child’s development.
Only authorized individuals listed by parents can pick up a child.
Parents should notify the centre in advance if someone else is picking up their child.

Orientation
To helps children adjust to the new environment smoothly, we encourage parents to participate in our Parent & Child Familiarization Program, where one parent to bring the child for 2-day morning sessions before official admission date. It also provides an opportunity for parents to connect with our educators and gain a better understanding of our centre’s philosophy, daily routines, and learning approach, fostering a strong home-school partnership.


Communication
Open communication between parents and staff is strongly encouraged. Teachers are encouraged to learn what is important to you as a parent and to use that information when programming for the group.
We use mobile app for: Daily updates; Attendance tracking; Milk & Meal records; Important announcements, and etc.

Dress Code
Except for Infant Club and Toddler Club, all students are required to wear the full set of uniform (top + bottom) every Monday & Friday. On all other days, students must wear the school shirt (top only) with their own appropriate bottom (comfortable and suitable for school activities).


Medical Information
All children enrolled must be up-to-date with their vaccinations. We encourage influenza immunization for all children. Our educators and staff are also vaccinated against typhoid and influenza.
*We do provide immunization service performed by doctor in the centre.

Injuries
If your child is injured while at the centre, staff will administer basic first aid. If medical attention is required, attempts will be made to reach the parents immediately. Staff will call Emergency Services if required.


Stain on Clothing
Exploration often requires getting messy! All of the materials that we use are washable. However, we are aware that some paint colours and other materials are difficult to fully remove.


Nutrition
Our menu is planned by registered dietitian and nutritionist. Please inform if the child has any known food allergy or required special attention (eg. Type 1 Diabetes M.).
Age-appropriate meals will be served in the centre.:
5 – 6 months old: Introduction to weaning diet
6 – 12 months: Soft & moist diet with semi-solid finger foods
12 – 18 months: Soft & bite-sized meals
18 months – 4 years: Regular meals*Children are required to have own breakfast or milk before coming to centre.


Payment & Program Fee
Fees are charged quarterly (except for day care) and include meals. There is NO additional fees on educational materials, learning resources, class-room furniture and stationery. A refundable deposit will be collected upon enrollment. It will be refunded upon withdrawal with a minimum 60-day notice or when the child graduates from the centre.

At Bright Leaders, we believe that every behaviour is a form of communication. Our role is to guide children with empathy, respect, and consistency, helping them understand their feelings, make better choices, and grow in confidence.
We practice positive discipline, which means teaching rather than punishing, and always supporting the development of emotional regulation and self-leadership—aligned with our EmpowerMe Program.
Preferred Practices

Use of positive verbal encouragement and non-verbal cues to reinforce kind, safe, and respectful behaviour
Gentle redirection of inappropriate actions, helping children understand better choices

Physical punishment in any form (e.g. spanking, hitting, shaking)
Harsh or humiliating actions, including yelling, threats, or degrading language
Withholding food, comfort, or basic needs as a form of discipline
Isolation, confinement, or any form of physical restraint
Locking children inside rooms or restricting access to exits
